  • Assilah Eco Village, Morocco

Linsey Taylor Auad created Assilah Eco Village which is a naturally built eco project situated near Assilah in the Tangier province in North Morocco. It is a space to contemplate, relax, learn, simplify life and maybe do nothing! A sanctuary for body, mind and soul.

“We now we have 4 houses; my house, the Volunteer House, the Yin Yang Hobbit House and the English Boat House . Recently we have completed the Community Hub with its communal kitchen, activity/dining area and bathroom facilities. We keep chickens, have a big fire pit area, veg beds, a budding orchard and many outdoor chilling areas.”

  • Freswick Castle, Scotland

Freswick Castle is a wonderful haven for visitors - a place of healing, refreshment and inspiration.

This ancient tower house is built upon the foundations of a 12th Century Viking settlement, which is one of the most important archaeological sites in Scotland. The architecture ranges from medieval to 18th Century periods and the imposing building dominates the coastline, which is a haven for wild-life, seals in the bay, otters in the burn, and a vast variety of sea birds. The cloudscapes and night skies are spectacular, with no light pollution and huge horizons. Freswick Castle has all the feeling of glorious remoteness, but is near to local amenities, Wick airport, rail links south, and ferries to Orkney.
